 RIVERHEAD | | Instruments previously built in Japan during the 1980s and 1990s. Distributed in the U.S. by American Riverhead in Bolingbrook, IL, and in Japan by Headway Co., Ltd. of Japan. | | Riverhead guitars were produced by the Headway Co. Ltd. in Japan and they produced a variety of electric guitars and basses during the 1970s and 1980s. Their first designs called the Unicorn, were based on Steinberger's headless models. Later models featured Ernie Ball-style bodies and headstocks.
