ELECTRIC BASS
The first Riverhead bass were the Unicorn Series and all bass models featured a Steinberger-style headless body with an alder body, three-piece maple neck, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, an original bridge/tailpiece, and were available in Graphite Black, Metallic Blue, Metallic Red, Pearl Pink, Pearl White, or Silver finish. The Unicorn Standard Bass RUB-1090 featured two single coil pickups and last retailed for $795. The Unicorn Deluxe Bass RUB-1095 featured one single coil and one humbucker pickup and last retailed for $850. The Unicorn Custom Bass RUB-1100 featured two single coil pickups and a four-band EQ and last retailed for $950.
In 1985, the Jupiter and Phantom Series of guitars and basses was released. All Jupiter models featured an offset double cutaway body with a longer bass bout, maple neck, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, a split open-style headstock where the bass tuners are mounted normally and the treble tuners are mounted banjo style, two-per-side Gotoh tuners, a standard bridge, chrome hardware, and available in Jet Black, Maroon, Metallic Gray, or Pearl White finish. The Jupiter Bass RJB-900 featured two single coil pickups. The Jupiter Bass RJB-1100JJ featured two J-style pickups and a four-band EQ. The Jupiter Bass RJB-1100PJ featured one J-style and one P-style pickups along with a four-band EQ. The Jupiter Bass RJB-1300PJ featured an ached top, one J-style and one P-style pickups, and active electronics.
The Phantom Bass RPB-1000 featured a pointy offset double cutaway maple body, maple neck with a thin headstock, an original bridge, two humbucker pickups, and black hardware. The RPB-1000 was available in Midnight Black, Mother of Pink, or Pearl White finish.
1990s models included the Gracia Series that are Jazz bass inspired but also have an Ernie Ball/Music Man feeling to them. All models featured a one-piece hard maple or solid alder body, one-piece hard maple neck, 21-fret maple or rosewood fingerboard with black or pearl dot inlays, four-on-one-side Gotoh tuners, a standard bridge, black or clear pickguard, two J-style pickups, black or gold hardware, and available in Two-Tone Sunburst, Clear Natural, See-Through White, Silver, See-Through Night Black Sunburst, See-Through Violet Sunburst, or See Through Wine Red. The Gracia Bass RGB-62 last retailed for $1,049 and the five-string RGB-63 last retailed for $1,249.The Gracia Bass RGB-82 featured a quilt maple top with an optional ebony fingerboard and last retailed for $1,349. The five-string RGB-83 last retailed for $1,549.
