 AZOLA BASSES | | Instruments currently built in Ramona, CA. Previously built in San Marcos, CA. | Azola's line of electric uprights has grown dramatically since bringing the Baby Bass (Ampeg-like) back to life and giving it their own twist and modern versatility. In 1997, the evolution of the Baby Bass came full circle when Ampeg contracted Azola to manufacture the official reissue Ampeg Baby Bass with its fiberglass body and magnetic diaphragm pickup system. Piezo bridge pickups are also available.
Azola is owned by Steve and Jill Azola, and offers Baby Basses under their own name in a hardwood hollow body version available with any of their various pickup options (and they still offer replacement parts and accessories for vintage Ampeg and Zorko Baby Basses). Other instruments include the Acoustic Baby Bass and the EuroCoustic Baby Bass.
Many aspects of this design have either been incorporated into the current models, or have become options available to all models. Azola also has a custom shop thatproduces instruments on a special order only basis directly from the factory.
