NS Design has been producing guitars since 1990. | | Designer Ned Steinberger founded NS Design in 1990, as a means to independently develop new and innovative stringed instrument designs. Ned founded Steinberger in the 1970s and sold the company to Gibson in 1986. By 1990, Gibson was in full control of the company with Steinberger as a consultant. NS Design focuses on building electric violins, cellos, violas, and stand-up basses. NS Design also makes strings for basses and cellos.
