 FRYE | | Instruments previously built in Green Bay, WI from 1987 until the late 1990s. | Luthier/repairman Ben Frye has been repairing guitars in the Green Bay area for almost twelve years, and building custom guitars for the past ten years. Frye estimates that he has built a total of 700 guitars to date (100 built in the last year), and looks forward to a higher production amount this year.
Frye guitars are constructed at The String Instrument Workshop, a shop Ben shares with his father. Lawrence Frye, a repairman and luthier for the past twenty-five years, was the former teacher at Redwing College's Violin and Guitar Making course between 1974 to 1980. The Workshop, a former bar restored to its turn-of-the-century appearance in Green Bay's downtown area, is the central area to the Fryes' stringed instrument repair. | | | ELECTRIC | | ELECTRIC BASS |
