ELECTRIC SOLID-BODY
The NYSD-9 (last MSR $4,200) is a single-cutaway and in some strange way is reminiscent of the original New Yorker design. The body is made out of mahogany with a maple arched top, the neck is mahogany with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl zig-zag position inlays, multiple body, neck, and headstock binding, two original dual coiled pickups, four knobs, stop-bar tailpiece, gold hardware, and came in Natural Yellow, Big Apple Red, or Walnut finishes.
The NY-SD ($1,395) features a single cutaway mahogany body with an arched back, highly figured carved maple top, seven-ply ivoroid/black binding, set mahogany neck, 22-fret ebony fingerboard with MOP split-block inlays, rosewood headstock overlay, three-per-side tuners, tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, two Kent Armstrong humbucker pickups, four knobs (two v, two tone), three-way pickup switch, gold hardware, and available in Blackburst, Black Cherry Burst, Blueburst, Classic Sunburst, Natural, or Wine Red finish. This model is also available with a Bigsby tremolo tailpiece (Model NY-SDWB, $1,495).
