SHO-BUD
Also Sho-Bro. Instruments previously built in the U.S. during circa early 1970s. Distributed through the Gretsch Guitar company catalog between 1972 and 1975; possibly as late as 1979.
While this company is best known for their pedal steel guitars, the company did produce a number of acoustic guitars. Sho-Bud and Sho-Bro guitars were designed by Shot Jackson (known for his Sho-Bud pedal steel guitars). Two models appear in the Gretsch catalogs of the early 1970s: The Sho Bro, a resonator with a single cutaway body and dot fingerboard inlays; and the Sho Bud, a non-cutaway model with inlays similar to the Sho-Bud lap steels (the four suits of the card deck, information courtesy John Brinkmann, Waco Vintage Instruments; and John Sheridan).
