 MICHAEL DUNN CUSTOM GUITARS | | Instruments currently built in Vancouver (British Columbia), Canada. | | Michael Dunn apprenticed for three years under maestros Jose Orti and Jose Ferrer at George Bowden's workshop in Palma De Mallorca, Spain during the mid-1960s. As a guitarist, Dunn was fascinated by Django Reinhardt's acoustic style of jazz. Dunn's interest in the Maccaferri guitar design, along with his background of the Spanish guitar-building tradition, is the basis for his modern interpretation of Maccaferri-styled models. Dunn also offers two classical style models, a flamenco style acoustic, and a Weissenborn-style acoustic Hawaiian guitar. Dunn builds about twenty guitars a year.
