ZEMAITIS AUTHENTICITY In the late 1980s, Zemaitis was surprised to see that his guitars were even more valuable in the secondhand market than originally priced. As his relative output was limited, an alarming trend of forgeries has emerged in England, Japan, and the U.S. Serial numbers identification and dating on guitars will continue to be unreported in this edition, due to the number of forgeries that keep turning up (and we're not going to add tips to the "help-yourself merchants" as Tony likes to call them). To clarify matters simply: Tony Zemaitis has granted NO ONE permission to build reproductions and NO licensing deals have been made to any company.
