WURLITZER | Instruments previously built in America during the 1960s. Wurlitzer then began importing models from Italy during the 1970s. | During the 1960s, Wurlitzer distributed guitars built in the Holman-Woodell facility in Neodesha, Kansas (makers of other trademarks such as Holman, Alray, 21st Century, and La Baye). Instruments were medium quality solid or semi-hollowbody guitars. As U.S. production prices rose, Wurlitzer began importing semi-hollowbody guitars built by the Welson company in Italy in the early 1970s.
