WESTBURY
See Unicord. Instruments previously produced in Japan between 1978 and 1981.
The Merson Musical Supply Company of Westbury, New York was the primary importer of Univox guitars. Merson evolved into Unicord, and also became a distributor for Westbury brand guitars. Westbury instruments featured a set neck design on both the solid body electric guitars and basses, and generally had two humbuckers on the guitar models (some also had a vari-tone switch). Westbury guitars are generally medium to good quality original designs (source: Michael Wright, Guitar Stories, Volume One).
