STATUS ELECTRIC BASS: OTHER SERIES Status introduced the new Groove Bass in 1998. The Groove Bass features an offset double cutaway alder or tulipwood body, and has a Tri-Max triple coil pickup (the two outer pickups generate the signal, the middle pickup is the hum-cancelling coil). The Groove Bass is available in 4- (list $1,599) and 5-string (list $1,799) configurations, and in 2-Tone Sunburst, Old English White, and Claret finishes.
