STACCATO | ELECTRIC | These high quality guitars featured neck platform of magnesium alloy, which has the pickups and hardware; while the wood or fiberglass solid body has the electronics and controls. Both the bridge (fixed or tremolo) and the nut are magnesium alloy. Neck choices for guitar were 6- or 12-string configuration; basses were available with 4- or 8-string configurations, fretted or fretless. In the early 1980s the Staccato list price was around $1,800 (models were still handmade). It is estimated that only 50 completed instruments were produced. | |
