ELECTRIC BASS: USA SERIES
In the USA Series, the NS models were designed by Ned Steinberger (based on his original curved back model from 1976). The SD models were designed by Stuart Spector in 1992. Current U.S. models are optional with bridge-mounted piezo pickup systems. Ned Steinberger Spector designs from the late 1970s featured models like the NS-1, which had a single humbucker pickup, neck-through design, two-per-side headstock. This model opened the door for others such as the NS-1 B, a bolt-on neck model; the NS-2 (two humbuckers); and the NS-2 J which featured two EMG pickups. Early Spector basses still command good money on the vintage market.
