SMD ELECTRIC BASS Stambaugh's SMD Custom Bass is available in 4-, 5-, or 6-string configurations. Similar to the SMD Custom guitar, luthier Stambaugh only specifies an oil finish, peghead and body pattern (the look of the instrument). All other options are left to the customer's choice. While there is no option for a bass tremolo, the gloss finish option is an extra $150. Retail prices start at $1,300 (4-string), $1,450 (5-string), up to $1,600 (6-string model). Luthier Stambaugh is also building custom designed banjos (including a Banjo Bass).
