 PAUL REED SMITH GUITARS (PRS) | | ELECTRIC: PRIVATE STOCK MODELS | PRS Private Stock models are very limited, non-production instruments, and are available in most models. To date, over 2,000 Private Stock instruments have been manufactured since April, 1996. These guitars are built from very special pieces of tone wood(s), and each instrument is individually made to custom order by a small team of senior craftsmen led by master luthier Joseph Knaggs. Production is very limited, and each one is personally checked and play tested by the team and Paul Reed Smith, in addition to being personally signed, dated, and numbered by Paul Reed Smith. A unique certificate signed by Paul Reed Smith, describing the materials and construction also accompanies every Private Stock guitar.
Since each Private Stock guitar is custom built to order, prices for new instruments can vary significantly, depending on the instrument's configuration, woods, finishes, and inlays. Prices on new or slightly used Private Stock models typically vary from $6,000 to over $20,000+, and it is recommended that the company verify the original configuration of each Private Stock instrument (see Trademark Index for contact information). | |
