NED CALLAN | Instruments previously built in England from the early to late 1970s. Also see CMI, Shaftesbury, PC, and Simms-Watts. | The Ned Callan trademark is a pseudonym for custom luthier Peter Cook. Cook successfully mass-produced enough decent quality solid body guitars to warrant other trademarks: Shaftesbury and Simms-Watts were the brand names of British importers; PC (Cook's initials) and CMI (guessing Cook Musical Instruments?) and perhaps other marketing devices. Outside of the headstock moniker, the guitars themselves seemed the same. Source: Tony Bacon and Paul Day, The Guru's Guitar Guide. | | ELECTRIC: FIRST SERIES | ELECTRIC: SECOND SERIES |
