ELECTRIC: JOE MAPHIS SERIES
Joe Maphis Model instruments were designed in conjunction with guitarist Joe Maphis. These semi-hollow models (the walnut back is carved out, and then glued to a spruce top) have controls mounted on the pickguard.
JOE MAPHIS (MODEL MARK I, # 501)
- slightly offset double semi-hollow body, 1.5 in. body depth, bound spruce top, walnut back, hard rock maple neck, 24.5 in. scale, 22-fret celluloid bound rosewood fingerboard, laminated black (or white) shell pickguard, deluxe adjustable roller bridge/vibrato tailpiece, 3-per-side tuners, chrome hardware, 2 adjustable pickups, volume/tone controls, available in Natural and Transparent Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1965-69.
Joe Maphis 12-String (Model Mark XII, # 503)
- similar to the Joe Maphis, except has 12-string configuration, 6-per-side tuners, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1965-69.
JOE MAPHIS DOUBLENECK (MODEL MARK XVIII)
- similar to the Joe Maphis, except has 2 necks in a 12-string/6-string configuration, 6-per-side tuners/adjustable bridge (12-string neck), 3-per-side tuners/Moseley vibrato (6-string neck) 1.25" body depth, available in Natural or Trans. Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1965-69.
Joe Maphis Doubleneck (Model VII) Reissue
- similar to the Joe Maphis Doubleneck (Model Mark XVIII), available in Black, Sunburst, or White finishes, mfg. 1990, 1992-94.
Joe Maphis JM 65 (1966-1967)
- similar to the Joe Maphis, except has 2 necks in a mandolin/6-string configuration, 2-per-side tuners (mandolin neck), 3-per-side tuners (6-string neck), available in Black or Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1966-67.
