 MAGNATONE | | ELECTRIC: STARSTREAM SERIES | | In 1962, Paul Barth (of National/Rickenbacker/Bartell fame) designed four models that consisted of a 1- or 2-pickup solid body model, a 3/4 scale beginner's electric guitar, and an electric/acoustic (retail prices ranged from $99 to $299). The guitar line was renamed the Starstream series in 1965, and all models were redesigned with a double cutaway body. There were three electric/acoustics models (that ranged from $350 to $420), and three solid body electrics (one a 3/4 size) and a bass guitar (ranging from $170 to $290). | |
