All bodies are semi-acoustic, and are designed to create an instrument that is lighter in weight as well as possessing greater audio character. Linc also eliminates any plastic, paint, or screws in their quest for functional simplicity - thus, all pickup systems are passive, not active (which requires a battery). Tone is a combination of the overall design coupled with the wood combinations required to produce a certain sound (bright, dark, woody, heavy on the mid-range, etc.). No two instruments have been exactly alike, which means that custom options are used often. The body-to-neck joint is the strongest in the world (patented).
