MODEL DESIGNATIONS & COLOR CODES
In 1996, the models in the product line were renamed from their usual name plus designation (ex.: a Rhoads Standard) to a simpler 3 or 4 digit abbreviation (Rhoads Standard = RR2). Older models discontinued prior to 1996 will retain their original designation, while new models and continuing production models will follow the new designation.
In 2002, with Fender purchasing the company, the product code is now included. Wherever there is a current model there is the typical Fender SKU code where any guitar can be identified.
Jackson guitars are very famous because of their often radical finishes that they use on thier guitars. Jackson has also used hundreds of different finishes over the years. Some are available for a short period and some have been produced since the begining of the company! We try to update the finish list as much as we can, but keep in mind that the U.S. Jackson Shop can put on just about anything for a finish and what we have listed is strictly from the option list. Non-U.S. models are pretty standard when it comes to finishes. Price adjustments should be listed under every individual model; you just need to refer to this chart in order to determine what finish group your color falls under.
