In 1992 this all models were changed from the R coming after the number to the R coming before the number (i.e. 540R to R540).

R442

- offset double cutaway alder body, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlay, locking vibrato, six-on-one-side locking tuners, black hardware, two single coil and one humbucker Ibanez pickups HSS, two knobs (v, tone), five-way switch, available in Trans. Blue, Trans. Cherry, or Trans. Sunburst finish, mfg. 1992 only.

R540 /540R

- offset double cutaway basswood body, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, double locking tremolo, six-on-a-side tuners, black hardware, one humbucker and two single coil Ibanez pickups HSH, two knobs (v, tone), five-way switch, Black, Blue Burst, Candy Apple, Fountain Blue, Jewel Blue, Jewel Red, Pearl, Ruby Red, or Shocking Pink finish, mfg. 1988-1992.

540R LTD/R540 LTD

- similar to R540, except has sharktooth fingerboard inlay, and two humbucker and one single coil Ibanez pickups HSH, available in available in Black, Candy Apple (1991-92), or Jewel Blue, Ruby Red (1991 only), finish, mfg. 1991-93.

540R HH/R540 HH

- similar to R540, except has two Ibanez humbucker pickups, mfg. 1988-1992.

Pro 540R

- similar to R540, except has Ibanez-DiMarzio USA Duo-sound pickups, mfg. 1987 only.

R542

- similar to the R540, except has an alder body, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval inlay, and three Ibanez single coil pickups, available in Blue, Candy Apple, or White finish, mfg. 1992 only.

RV470

- similar to the R540 except has a gravure/alder body, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, transparent pickguard, two humbucker and one single coil Ibanez pickups, and gold hardware, available in Purpleburst or Tobaccoburst finish, mfg. 1993 only.
