James Baecker and T. Sage Harmos started building guitars as Harmos Music Ltd. in 2001. Harmos started with a lap steel with a very unusual design. The frame of the guitar is a tetrahedron design that looks like the framework of a bridge. This design gives the guitar more sound and resonance while at the same time, keeping it lightweight. Since the introduction of the lap steel guitar, they have introduced the Matrax guitar that features a traditional guitar shape with the tetrahedron design.
