The second version has a tinted lacquer and the binding appears red. | ELAN I (NO. 031-4000/025-4000) | - double offset cutaway mahogany body, bookmatched figured maple top, mahogany neck, 22-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, 3-per-side tuners with pearl buttons, fixed bridge, 2 humbucker pickups, volume/tone control, 5-position switch, gold hardware, available in Amber, Antique Burst, Crimson Red Trans., or Sapphire Blue Trans. finish, 25.1 in. scale, mfg. 1989-1993. |
ELAN II (NO. 031-4100/025-4100) | - similar to Elan I, except has a Fender American Deluxe tremolo, locking tuners, 25.5 in. scale, chrome hardware, mfg. 1991-93. |
ELAN III (NO. 131-4100/125-4200) | - similar to Elan I, except has double locking Floyd Rose Pro tremolo, black and gold hardware, two DiMarzio humbucker and one single coil pickupsin HSH configuraiton, and sharkfin fingerboard inlays with a red accent on the 12th fret, mfg. 1991-93. |
