HAMER SERIALIZATION, MODEL IDENTIFICATION, & PRICING OPTIONS Jol Dantzig estimates that Hamer USA has built 48,000 guitars between 1975 and 1995. Serialization is easy to decipher, as the first digit in the serial number is the year the guitar was built. However, since the cycle repeats itself (0 to 9), knowing when the model was produced becomes the key. All instruments made in Illinois (1975-1996) and currently Connecticut (1997-present) display either Hamer, or Hamer USA logo on the headstock. All models produced after 1997 specifically have the Hamer USA logo on the headstock. All Hamer USA Guitars are listed in this book with stock (factory) appointments. Hamer offers several options and upgrades on their models and caution should be used when determining value. Here is a listing of a few common options.
