HOLLENBECK GUITARS | ELECTRIC | Hollenbeck handcrafted archtop guitars with ten to twenty year-old Sitka spruce tops tuned A to B flat, and back and sides from bird's-eye, flame, or quilted maple. The truss rod, fingerboard, pickguard, bridge, saddle, and tailpiece are matching ebony or rosewood. Metal parts are polished brass and 24kt gold plated or nickle plated, and inlays are constructed with mother-of-pearl or abalone. Colors include blonde or lacquer shading. Scale lengths include 24.75 in. or 25.5 in. Models have two f-holes, and three-per-side tuners. 250-300 hours are allowed for construction on each guitar. Models included the Reminisce, which has an 16 in. body, which last sold for $8,200. The Simplicity has a 17 in. body and retailed from $6,200 - 6,800. The Jazz Reflections has a 17 in. body and retailed for $8,400.The Time Traveler features the massive 18 in. body and retailed for $8,800. The Ebony-n-Blue, which was built for Scott Chinery came in a 18 in. body. The Fleur-de-lis is a guitar that features this type of flower all over the guitar and has a 17 in. sized body. The Jim Nichols Signature guitar features a semi-hollowbody, carved top and backs, and Seymour Duncan pickups. It has other options such as gold hardware and a vibrato tailpiece. Prices ranged from $6,200 to $8,800. Prices included a hardshell case, and a floating pickup. | |
