GUILD
ELECTRIC ARCHTOP: X SERIES
Models X-100/X-110, X-200/X-220, X-300/X-330, and X-600/X-660 were the first electric archtops that Guild produced starting in 1953. These models were offered before the line became stabilized in 1954 with different model designations.
X-50 GRANADA
- hollow style body, arch spruce top, f-holes, raised black pickguard, bound body, mahogany back/sides/neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, adjustable rosewood bridge/trapeze tailpiece, blackface peghead with screened logo, 3-per-side tuners, humbucker pickup, volume/tone controls, available in Sunburst finish, mfg. 1952-1970.
X-60
- similar to the X-150, except has gold finish.
X-100/X-110
- non-cutaway hollow maple body, laminated spruce top, two f-holes, laminated maple/walnut neck, 20-fret fingerboard with large block inlays, bound headstock, three-per-side tuners, adj. bridge, trapeze tailpiece, raised pickguard, single pickup, two knobs (v, tone), nickel hardware, available in Natural (X-110) or Sunburst (X-100) finish, 17 in. lower bout width, mfg. 1953-54.
X-150 SAVOY (NO. 360-8400)
- single rounded cutaway hollow body, bound laminated flame maple top, two f-holes, raised black pickguard, laminated flame maple back/sides, mahogany neck, 20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlay, adjustable rosewood bridge/engraved harp tailpiece, pearl Chesterfield/logo peghead inlay, three-per-side tuners, chrome hardware, Guild SD-1 humbucker pickup, volume/tone controls, available in Antique Burst or Blonde finishes, body depth 3.375 in., mfg. 1954-1965, reissued 1998-2005.
X-150 D Savoy (No. 360-8500)
- similar to the X-150 Savoy, except features two Guild SD-1 humbucking pickups, available in Antique Burst or Blonde finishes, body depth 3.375 in., mfg. 1998-2003.
Rockabilly (X-160, No. 360-8600)
- similar to the X-150 except has 2 DeArmond Model 2000 single coil pickups, single volume and tone control, Bigsby Vibrato tailpiece, available in Black, Tennessee Orange, or Metallic Blue finishes, disc. 2003.
X-160 SAVOY
- single round cutaway hollow body, bound curly maple archtop, 2 f-holes, bound black pickguard, curly maple back/sides/neck, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, adjustable rosewood bridge/Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, pearl Chesterfield/logo peghead inlay, 3-per-side tuners, chrome hardware, 2 humbucker pickups, 2 volume/2 tone controls, 3-position switch, available in Black, Blonde, or Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1991-95.
X-170 MANHATTAN (NO. 350-8000)
- single round cutaway hollow body, bound curly maple archtop, two f-holes, black pickguard, curly maple back/sides/neck, 20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlay, adjustable rosewood bridge/harp tailpiece, pearl Chesterfield/logo peghead inlay, three-per-side tuners, chrome hardware, two Guild SD-1 humbucker pickups, four knobs (two v, two tone), three-way switch, available in Antique Burst or Blonde finishes, body width 16.625 in., body depth 2.5 in., mfg. 1988-2002.
X-170B Manhattan with Bigsby (No. 350-8100)
- similar to the X-170 Manhattan, except has Bigsby bridge/tailpiece, body width 16.625 in., body depth 2.5 in., mfg. 1995-98.
X-175 MANHATTAN
- single round cutaway hollow body, bound spruce archtop, 2 f-holes, black laminated pickguard, maple back/sides, mahogany neck, 20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlay, adjustable rosewood bridge/harp tailpiece, blackface peghead with pearl logo inlay, 3-per-side tuners, chrome hardware, 2 single coil soapbar pickups, volume/tone controls, 3-position switch, available in Blonde or Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1954-1984.
X-180 PARK AVENUE (NO. 360-8000)
- similar to the X-170, except has select curly maple body, gold hardware, bound headstock, Chesterfield logo, 2 Guild humbucker pickups, available in Blonde or Antique Burst finishes, disc. 2003.
X-200/X-220
- non-cutaway hollow maple body, laminated spruce top, two f-holes, laminated maple/walnut neck, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with large block inlays, bound headstock, three-per-side tuners, adj. bridge, trapeze tailpiece, raised pickguard, two pickups, two knobs (v, tone), three-way pickup switch, nickel hardware, available in Natural (X-220) or Sunburst (X-200) finish, 17 in. lower bout width, mfg. 1953-54.
X-300/X-330
- single cutaway hollow maple body, laminated spruce top, two f-holes, laminated maple/walnut neck, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with large block inlays, bound headstock, three-per-side tuners, adj. bridge, trapeze tailpiece, raised pickguard, single pickup, two knobs (v, tone), nickel hardware, available in Natural (X-330) or Sunburst (X-300) finish, 17 in. lower bout width, mfg. 1953-54.
X-350 STRATFORD
- single round cutaway hollow style, arched spruce top, raised black laminated pickguard, 2 bound f-holes, multibound body, maple back/sides/neck, 20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlay, adjustable rosewood bridge/harp tailpiece, blackface peghead with pearl shield/logo inlay, 3-per-side tuners, gold hardware, 3 single coil pickups, volume/tone controls, 6 pickup pushbutton switches, available in Sunburst finish, mfg. 1952-1973.
X-375 STRATFORD
- similar to the X-350 except in Natural finish, mfg. 1952-1973.
X-400
- similar to the X-175, except had 2 volume/2 tone controls and an early sunburst finish.
X-440
- similar to the X-400, except had Blonde finish.
X-500
- single round cutaway hollow style, bound arched laminated spruce top, 2 bound f-holes, bound tortoise pickguard, maple back/sides/neck, 20-fret bound ebony fingerboard with pearl block/abalone wedge inlay, adjustable ebony bridge, stylized trapeze tailpiece, bound peghead with pearl shield/logo inlay, 3-per-side Imperial tuners, gold hardware, 2 humbucker pickups, 2 volume/2 tone controls, 3-position switch, available in Blonde or Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1953-1995.
X-550P (NO. 395-8800)
- single Venetian cutaway semi-hollow body, two f-holes, laminated spruce top, laminated curly maple back and sides, five piece mahogany/maple neck, 20-fret ebony fingerboard with abalone and pearl block inlays, entire body binding, two Seymour Duncan single coil pickups, black pickguard, Bigsby tailpiece, four knobs, three-way switch, gold hardware, available in Antique Burst, Black, or Blonde finishes, mfg. 2004-05.
X-600/X-660
- single cutaway hollow maple body, laminated spruce top, two f-holes, laminated maple/walnut neck, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with large block inlays, bound headstock, three-per-side tuners, adj. bridge, trapeze tailpiece, raised pickguard, three pickups, four knobs, six pushbutton pickup switches mounted on a plate, gold hardware, available in Natural (X-660) or Sunburst (X-600) finish, 17 in. lower bout width, mfg. 1953-54.
X-700 STUART (NO. 350-8200)

X-770 STUART (NO. 395-8201)
- this model was advertised by Guild during 1998 with the following specifications: single cutaway hollow style, solid spruce top, 2 f-holes raised pickguard, maple back/sides/neck, 25.5 in. scale, 20-fret bound ebony fingerboard with pearl and abalone inlay, adjustable ebony bridge, engraved harp tailpiece, bound peghead with pearl shield/logo inlay, 3-per-side tuners, gold hardware, Guild SD-1 humbucker pickup, volume/tone controls. Available in Antique Burst or Blonde high gloss finishes, body width 3.5 in., while advertised, this model has yet to be manufactured
