Firebird: Non-Reverse Models, Mfg. 1966-1969
Non-Reverse Firebirds had traditional bout designs where the upper treble bout extended below the lower treble bout, and tuners were on the upper left side of headstock.
FIREBIRD I
- asymmetrical hourglass style mahogany body, layered white pickguard with engraved Firebird logo, mahogany neck, 22-fret Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, compensated bridge/vibrato tailpiece, 6-on-a-side tuners, chrome hardware, 2 single coil P-90 pickups, 2 volume/2 tone controls, 3-position switch, available in Custom Color and Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1965-69.
FIREBIRD III
- similar to Firebird I, except has three black soapbar P-90 pickups, mfg. 1965-69.
FIREBIRD V
- similar to Firebird I, except has tune-o-matic bridge/vibrato tailpiece with engraved cover, 2 covered original style Firebird humbucker pickups, mfg. 1965-69.
FIREBIRD V-12
- similar to Firebird I, except has 12 strings, blackface peghead with pearl split diamond inlay, tune-o-matic bridge/fixed tailpiece, 6-on-a-side tuners, mfg. 1966-67.
FIREBIRD VII
- similar to Firebird I, except has tune-o-matic bridge/vibrato tailpiece with engraved cover, gold hardware, 3 original style Firebird humbucker pickups, mfg. 1965-69.
