FENIX | Instruments previously built in Korea between circa 1989 to 1992, and 1996 to the late 1990s. | The Fenix trademark was used by instrument manufacturer Young Chang (Korea). Fenix guitars were built at the same time that the factory was producing Squier models for Fender. As a result, models with the Fenix brand name tend to be derived from Fender-based designs. Fenix guitars and basses were popular for a four-year run in England due to their decent quality at a relatively low price. In 1996, U.K. distributors Barnes & Mullins reintroduced the product line, for a short while.
