FRAMUS
ELECTRIC (1946-1975 MFG.)
While the original Hollywood series was Gibson-influenced, the later Strato series of guitars were strikingly Fender-ish. However, the company did pioneer their own designs such as the Big 6 double neck model, the Melodie 9-string guitar, and the Billy Lorento signature model (see Bill Lawrence). Research still continues on early Framus models for upcoming editions of the Blue Book of Electric Guitars.
Current high quality solid body Framus models include the single cutaway arched top Panthera and double cutaway Diablo models. Both models feature the easily recognizable Framus headstock and 3-per-side tuners, good quality woods, pickups, and hardware. For further information regarding the Framus line of instruments, please contact the Framus company directly (see Trademark Index).
