Telecaster: Early Models (1950-1985 Mfg.)
TELECASTER (FENDER MFG. 1951-1964)
- single cutaway ash body with routing channel between the pickups, bolt-on maple neck, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlay, "Telecaster" logo on headstock with six-on-one-side tuners, STB anchored bridge with three paired-string adj. saddles, black pickguard, two single coil pickups, two knobs (v, tone) and a three-way switch mounted on a metal plate, chrome hardware, available in Blonde finish, mfg. 1951-1964.
TELECASTER (CBS MFG. 1965-1983)
- single cutaway ash body with routing channel between the pickups, bolt-on maple neck, "F" stamp on neckplate, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlays (1967-1982) or rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays (1965-69), "Telecaster" logo on headstock with six-on-one-side tuners, STB anchored bridge with three paired-string adj. saddles, white pickguard, two single coil pickups, two knobs (v, tone) and a three-way switch mounted on a metal plate, chrome hardware, available in Blonde finish, mfg. 1965-1982.
Telecaster W/ Bigsby Vibrato (CBS Mfg. 1967-1975)
- similar to the Telecaster (CBS Mfg. 1965-1982), except has Bigsby vibrato bridge and tailpiece, mfg. 1967-1975.
Telecaster Antigua
- similar to the Telecaster (CBS Mfg. 1965-1983), except has an Antigua finish with a matching color laminated plastic pickguard, mfg. 1977-79.
Telecaster International Color
- similar to the Telecaster (CBS Mfg. 1965-1983), except features special International color finishes and a white laminated plastic pickguard with black plated screws, mfg. 1981 only.
PINK PAISLEY/BLUE FLORAL TELECASTER (U.S. MFG.)
- similar to the Telecaster, except has a Blue Floral or Pink Paisley finish, mfg. 1968-1970.
ROSEWOOD TELECASTER (U.S. MFG.)
- single cutaway rosewood body, bolt-on rosewood neck, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, rosewood headstock with six-on-one-side tuners, strings through bridge with cover, black pickguard, two single coil pickups, two knobs (v, tone) and a three-way switch mounted on a metal plate, chrome hardware, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1969-1972.
TELECASTER THINLINE (MFG. 1968-1971)
- similar to the Telecaster except has a hollow mahogany or ash body with an f-hole, an enlarged pickguard, rearranged knobs and switch, available in Blonde and custom colors, mfg. 1968-1971.
Telecaster Thinline With Humbuckers (Mfg. 1972-78)
- similar to the Telecaster Thinline except has two humbucking pickups, available in Blonde and Custom Colors, mfg. 1972-78.
TELECASTER CUSTOM (MFG. 1959-1972)
- bound alder body, white pickguard, 21-fret maple fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, strings through bridge, chrome hardware, 2 single coil pickups, volume/tone controls, 3-position switch, controls mounted metal plate, available in Sunburst and custom colors finishes, mfg. 1959-1972.
Telecaster Custom II (Mfg. 1972-78)
- similar to the Telecaster Custom except has a humbucker and single coil pickup, mfg. 1972-78.
DELUXE TELECASTER (MFG. 1972-1982)
- single cutaway poplar body, contoured back, bolt-on maple neck, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlays, 1970s Stratocaster-style headstock with six-on-one-side tuners, six saddle bridge, black pickguard, two humbucker pickups, four knobs (two v, two tone), three-way switch, available in Blonde, Sunburst, Olympic White, Black, Walnut, Antigua (1977-79), or Natural finish, mfg. 1972-1982.
STANDARD TELECASTER (U.S. MFG., 1982-85)
- single cutaway ash body with routing channel between the pickups, bolt-on maple neck, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlay, "Telecaster" logo on headstock with six-on-one-side tuners, bridge with six individual string adj. saddles, white pickguard, two single coil pickups, two knobs (v, tone) and a three-way switch mounted on a metal plate, chrome hardware, available in the following Standard Colors: Black, Brown Sunburst, Cherry Sunburst, Natural, Sienna Sunburst, or White finish, and the following Custom Colors: Aztec Gold, Candy Apple Green, Emerald Green, Mocha Brown, Pewter, Ruby Red or Sapphire Blue finish, mfg. 1982-85.
ELITE TELECASTER (U.S. MFG. 1983-85)
- single cutaway bound alder body, bolt-on neck, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlays or rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays,six-on-one-side tuners, top-loading bridge with individual string adj. mounted on a special stepped platform, pickguard supplied but not mounted on delivery, two noise-cancelling system double-coil white pickups, four numbered knobs (two v, two tone), three-way pickup switch, active electronics, chrome hardware, available in various finishes, mfg. 1983-85.
Elite Telecaster Gold (U.S. Mfg.)
- similar to the Elite Telecaster, except has pearloid button tuners and gold hardware, mfg. 1983-85.
Elite Telecaster Walnut (U.S. Mfg.)
- similar to the Elite Telecaster, except has a black walnut body and neck, ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, pearloid button tuners, gold hardware, and a supplied Voyagair case, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1983-85.
MARBLE FINISH TELECASTER ("BOWLING BALL" U.S. MFG. 1984)
- similar to the Standard Telecaster (U.S. Mfg. 1982-85), except has a swirled finish that resembles a bowling ball, mfg. 1984 only.
