FENDER | ELECTRIC: BULLET SERIES | The Bullet model was introduced in 1983, and was designed by John Page (now with the Fender Custom shop). Originally built in Korea, production was switched back to the U.S. facilities after six months and remained there through 1983. The original design featured a Telecaster-ish body design and slim headstock, a 25.5 in. scale, and two pickups that were "leftovers" from the Mustang production line. The Bullet had a suggested list price of $189, although this amount changed as more models were introduced to the series. Models in this series have offset double cutaway alder body, white pickguard, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlay, fixed bridge, telecaster style peghead, 6-on-one-side tuners, chrome hardware, volume/tone control (unless otherwise listed), available in Ivory, Red, Metallic Red, Sunburst, Walnut, and White finishes. | BULLET (FIRST VERSION) | - single cutaway body, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, two single coil covered pickups, three-position switch, mfg. 1981-83. |
