ELECTRA | ELECTRIC: MPC SERIES | Modular Powered Circuit (MPC) model guitars were introduced in 1976. The purpose of the design was to place effects typically found in pedals directly on-board the guitar itself. MPC models were available in 11 different types of effects: The Phase Shifter and Booster modules were included with the MPC instrument. Other modules available were the Power Overdrive, Treble/Bass Expander, Electronic Fuzz, Tank Tone, Frog Nose, Triggered Filter, Auto Wah, Tube Sound, Octave Splitter, and Flanger. | MPC | - single cutaway mahogany body, maple top, set-in maple neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone block inlays, chrome hardware, 3-per-side headstock, bridge/stop tailpiece, white raised pickguard, 2 covered Magnaflux humbucker pickups, volume/tone controls, 2 effects control knobs, 2 effects on/off switches, 5-way pickup selector switch on upper bass bout, available in Natural or Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1976-77. |
MPC STANDARD | - similar to the MPC, except has redesigned headstock, available in Antique Sunburst, Jet Black, Trans. Apple Red, Satin Jacaranda, or Sunburst Curly Maple finishes, mfg. 1978-1984. |
MPC OUTLAW | - similar to the MPC Standard, except had a dual cutaway body, mahogany neck-through design, black pickguard, available in Charcoal Grey Sunburst, Natural Mahogany, or Tobacco Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1978-1984. |
