ECHEVERRIA GUITARS
ELECTRIC
Mahogany was one of Echeverria's favorite woods that he used extensively to create his original design electrics. All models had a tongue-and-groove set-in neck design, and were finished in a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Echeverria uses a wide range of quality (and some custom) pickups from Tom Holmes, Joe Barden, Van Zandt, Seymour Duncan, and DiMarzio. Echeverria offered three distinct models over the years.
The Aztore model is a hybrid of design ideas from Gibson's Firebird and Explorer models, combined with an original modernistic body design. Echeverria favors Korina and mahogany in the construction, a 24.625 in. scale, six-on-a-side reverse banjo style tuners with pearloid buttons, a tune-o-matic stop tailpiece, and two humbuckers.
The Magnolia (last MSR was $3,200) shares a similar 24.625 in. scale and Gibson-esque vibe, but this model has a single rounded/Florentine cutaway mahogany body and an arched flame maple top. Body, fingerboard, and headstock are all bound, and the fingerboard has block inlays, two humbuckers and a tune-o-matic bridge/stop tailpiece wrap up this classicly designed model, thus proving that "Les" is more!
The Echo has a Fender-y Jazzmaster feel to the offset double cutaway mahogany (or alder or swamp ash) body. The 25.5 in. scale is combined with a three-per-side headstock, two humbuckers, and a tune-o-matic bridge/stop tailpiece - offering a different tonal feel to a Fender-scale guitar. This model is also available with a flame maple top.
