| 1977-1982: Guitars built between 1977 and 1982 had the large forked "Dean" headstock. 1983-Present: In 1983, the smaller headstock (nicknamed the shrimp fork) was introduced for models with a tremolo; then all of U.S. made instruments were shifted over to the smaller forked peghead. Korean-built bolt neck superstrat guitars have a pointy 6-on-a-side drooped design. |
