ELECTRIC: HAND VIBRATO, CONVERTIBLE & BELLZOUKI SERIES
HAND VIBRATO GUITAR
- double cutaway Masonite body with vinyl edging, one or two pickups, Batwing headstock with raised chrome script logo, all equipped with "vibrato" bridge, large white painted pickguard which surrounds pickups, pickguard mounted input jack, Gleaming Black finish only, introduced 1965, phased out 1967.
CONVERTIBLE
- double cutaway Masonite body with vinyl edging and round soundhole, floating bridge, NO pickguard, body mounted input jack, "Coke bottle" headstock with decal logo through 1967, then 6-in-line headstock with raised chrome script logo through 1969. Offered with or without electronics (hence the name Convertible). If without electronics, chrome "decorative" inserts are fitted in the control holes. Early versions have a single screw mounting the tailpiece and only two Allen screws on the rosewood bridge, later versions have two screws mounting the tailpiece with three Allen screws on the rosewood bridge, available in Blonde, Red, or Blue finishes, introduced 1958 and available through 1969.
BELLZOUKI
- three body variations centered around a masonite teardrop-shaped body, one or two pickups, body mounted input jack, tortoiseshell pickguard and pickup surround, "Batwing" headstock, raised chrome script logo, Tobacco Brown Sunburst only, introduced 1961, phased out 1967.
