 CARVIN | | ELECTRIC BASS: GENERAL INFORMATION & OPTIONS | In 1996, Carvin's combination bass bridge/tailpiece unit by Hipshot became standard on all Carvin bass models. This new design can be strung through the back of the bridge or through the body using string ferrules. Carvin briefly offered (1996-1997) the 2-Tek bridge (add $150) as a custom option; the 2-Tek was not available on left-handed configurations.
The standard features on all neck-through-body bass models are: 34 in. scale, graphite-reinforced maple neck, 24-fret ebony fingerboard, graphite nut, and chrome hardware. Carvin bass models are available in these standard colors: Classic White, Ferrari Red, Jet Black, Pearl Blue, Pearl Red, and Pearl White. The Natural Tung Oil finish was discontinued in 1998. | |
