BLUE STAR GUITAR COMPANY | ELECTRIC | Blue Star instruments feature solid wood construction topped with an eye-catching, psychedelic Phenolic burst top. This durable reflective material is occasionally found on drum sets (Herron admits that his inspiration began with '50s Gretsch drum sets and guitars). All models have a chip-resistant finish on the sides and back, chrome hardware, and a limited lifetime warranty from Herron, available in Blueburst, Chromeburst, Goldburst, Redburst, and Silverburst. The Travelcaster (Model BS-1) (disc., last MSR was $550, selling price at Elderly was $385) has a 22 in. scale, one humbucker, double cutaway body, three-per-side tuners, rosewood fingerboard, adjustable truss rod, and a tune-o-matic type bridge. A left-handed Travelcaster (Model BS-1L, disc., last retailed at $420) was also available. Herron's full scale guitar, the Psychocaster (Model PC) (disc., last MSR was $560, selling price at Elderly was $462), is a Telecaster-style design that features two single coil pickups, string through-body bridge, adjustable truss rod, volume/tone controls, three-way pickup selector switch, and choice of maple or rosewood fingerboards. A left-handed version (Model PCL, last MSR was $504) was also available. Currently, there are no electric guitars offered for sale at Elderly. | |
