ELECTRIC BASS

Austin bass models feature hardwood bodies, bolt-on maple necks, and fixed bridges. The AU 759 P-style bass (list $269) has a split P-style pickup; this model has an optional left-handed configuration (Model AU 770), or in Black, Red, Sunburst, or Transparent Blue finishes. The AU 769 PJ-style bass has P/J- style pickups and a rosewood fingerboard (list $299). The AU 779 Intruder Bass has 2 J-style pickups, rosewood fingerboard, and chrome hardware. In 2004, the P-Style basses were renumbered as AU829 and retail for $249. The J-Style basses were renumbered AU834 (MSR $279).
The Eclipse Bass Series are higher end models with fine wood finishes. The AU850 Standard 4-String retails for $299, and the AU855 5-String retails for $349. The AU860 Custom 4-String retails for $499 and the AU865 5-String retails for $599. The Eclipse Pro is the top of the line and feature bubinga tops. The AU870 4-String retails for $699 and the AU875 5-String retails for $799.
