ELECTRIC: AMPEG BY BURNS OF LONDON SERIES
Between 1963 and 1964, Ampeg made an agreement with Burns of London to import in five models built in England. All five are directly identical to the Burns version, with the exception that the pickguard's logo read "Ampeg by Burns of London." All five models were renamed for the U.S. market.
SONIC SIX (MODEL EGSS)
- offset double cutaway hardwood body with short horns, 23.375 in. scale, bolt-on neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlay, 6-on-a-side tuners, chrome hardware, black inscribed pickguard, 2 Burns 'Nu-Sonic' single coil pickups, bridge/tremolo tailpiece, volume/2 tone controls, 3-way selector switch, available in Cherry finish, mfg. 1963-64.
THINLINE (MODEL EGT-1)
- offset double cutaway semi-solid body (solid center section), 2 f-holes, white body binding, bolt-on neck, 24.75 in. scale, 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlay, 3-per-side tuners, bound headstock, bridge/tremolo tailpiece, 2 Burns 'Ultra-Sonic' pickups, raised black inscribed pickguard with volume/bass/treble roller controls mounted underneath, 3-way selector switch, available in Red Sunburst finish, mfg. 1963-64.
WILD DOG (MODEL EG1-S)
- offset double cutaway hardwood body with inward curving horns, 23.375 in. scale, bolt-on neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlay, 6-on-a-side tuners, chrome hardware, black inscribed pickguard, 3 Burns 'Split-Sonic' pickups, bridge/tremolo tailpiece, volume/tone controls, 4-way selector switch, available in Red Sunburst finish, mfg. 1963-64.
Deluxe Wild Dog (Model EG-3)
- similar to the Wild Dog, except has a shorter horn double cutaway body, 24 .75 in. scale, available in Red Sunburst finish, mfg. 1963-64.
