 VOGEL GUITARS | | Instruments currently produced in Vaca de Castro, Quito, Ecuador in South America since 1995. Distributed in the U.S. by Vogel Guitars in Walnut, CA. | | Vogel Guitars produces electric, electric bass, and acoustic and electro-classic guitars in Ecuador. Bob Vogel was born in Pasadena, CA, and knew the famous Eddie and Alex Van Halen. In 1988, he went to Ecuador for missionary work and ended up marrying a woman he met there. After moving there in 1991, he looked into building guitars, and by 1995, two others and himself had begun building guitars. Vogel guitars are mostly hand-crafted, taking advantage of the inherent skill of Ecuadorian craftsmen and the Spanish guitar heritage latent in the Latin culture.
