Instruments previously built in Valley Stream, NY circa late 1970s through 1980s.
Luthier/designer Tom Leiberman of "The Woodshop" in Valley Stream, New York built a number of acoustic bowl-back basses for the past number of years. In addition to a custom bass built several years ago for Jack Cassidy (Hot Tuna), Leiberman also built the Stanley Clarke Bass back in the 1970s. Leiberman current focuses his talents on furniture, but may accept custom commissions, (Preliminary information courtesy Jeff Meyer). In the late 1970s, Leiberman's Thos Sha Czar bowl-backed basses had a list price of $4,000.
