THREET GUITARS
ACOUSTIC
Threet individually handcrafts each guitar, and takes great care in choosing the tonewoods and in voicing the tops. Necks are entirely handcarved and are joined in the traditional dovetail joint. Each instrument is monitored throughout the building process to optimize its tone. Many Custom Options, such as custom neck shapes, nut widths, string spacings, various tonewoods and custom inlays are available; most at an additional cost.
All five Threet models are available either Deluxe or Custom. The Deluxe configuration includes a Sitka spruce top, back and sides of either Honduran mahogany or Indian rosewood, ebony binding/fingerboard/bridge, abalone rosette, and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The Custom configuration, by far the most common, might feature some other combination of tonewoods, a rosette of a different style, a custom inlay, etc. Previously, Threet offered a Standard configuration.
The five Threet models correspond roughly to the traditional sizes of 0, 00, 000, dreadnought, and mini-jumbo. Threet's Model A is practically a parlor sized guitar, with dimensions: body length - 18.375 in., width - 13.75 in., and depth - 3.5 in. tapering to 4.25 in.. The Model B is a slightly larger parlor sized guitar: body length - 18.875 in., width - 14.125 in., and depth - 3.25 in. tapering to 4.125 in.. The Model C is larger still, with dimensions: body length - 19.375 in., width - 14.5 in., and depth - 3.25 in. tapering to 4.125 in.. The Model D is a hybrid size best described as a cross between a Model C and a Dreadnought: body length - 20 in., width - 15.25 in., and depth - 3.5 in. tapering to 4.5 in.. Models A, B, and C have a 24 27/32 in. scale, while the Model D has a 25 11/32 in. scale. The Model E has a tighter waist and a rounder bouts than the Model D: body length - 20 in., width - 15.625 in., and depth - 3.5 in. tapering to 4.5 in.. Models A and B have a 24.9 in. scale. Model D has a 25.4 in. scale. Models C and E are available in either of these scales. The price for a Deluxe guitar (without case) is $6,000.
