STAUFFER Instruments previously produced in Vienna, Italy in the early to mid-1800s. Luthier George Stauffer (1778-1853) produce fine guitars in Vienna. He is also noted for training other guitar makers including C.F. Martin. He is also known for his inovations to instruments. Stauffer guitars can be worth quite a bit if they are original and the label indicates the guitar was built by him. Look for more information in further editions of the Blue Book of Acoustic Guitars.
