SIGMA
Instruments currently produced overseas, with final finishing/inspection in Nazareth, PA. Distributed in the U.S. by Musicorp in North Charleston, SC. Sigma has been producing guitars sporadically since 1970.
In 1970, the Martin Guitar Company expanded its product line by introducing the Sigma line. The instruments begin their assembly in Japan, and then are shipped in to Pennsylvania where the Martin company can oversee the final finishing and setup. Sigma guitars are great introductory models to the classic Martin design. However, they have not appeared on a consistent basis from Martin (even though they advertise Sigma guitars have been produced since 1970). The last line of Martin guitars was produced until circa 1996, and a new line was introduced in 2006. For more information, contact Musicorp directly or visit their website (see Trademark Index).
