PLAYTIME
Guitars previously produced in Chicago, IL by either Kay or Harmony during the early 1940s.
The Playtime trademark has been identified as a House Brand for Sears. Playtime guitars mainly appeared in 1943 and 1944 catalogs and was sold as a budget brand to Sears popular Silvertone line. These guitars were probably made by Harmony, but a few examples look like they were built by Kay. Most guitars have arched plywood tops, but spruce was used as well.
