OVATION | ACOUSTIC: VIPER SERIES | The Viper was originally a solid body guitar from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. The Viper name has now been affixed to a new, 1990s acoustic/electric slim body design. The Viper model has a solid Spruce top, and a mahogany body with acoustic chambers. An onboard active electronics package (volume and three band EQ) allows control over feedback. | VIPER (MODEL EA68) | - single cutaway mahogany body with routed sound chamber, bound spruce top, 14 multi-size soundholes with various leaf wood overlay, five-piece mahogany/maple neck, 24-fret bound ebony fingerboard, strings through rosewood bridge, rosewood veneered peghead with screened logo, three-per-side gold tuners, six piezo bridge pickups, volume/3-band EQ controls, available in Black or Natural finish, mfg. 1994-2008. |
VIPER 12-STRING (MODEL EA 58) | - similar to the Viper, except in 12-string variation, available in Black and Natural finishes, mfg. 1996-98. |
VIPER (MODEL CV68) | - similar to the Viper, except has a rosewood fingerboard, walnut bridge, and has a Viper Thinline Graphic preamp, available in Black or Honey Burst finishes, mfg. 2000-06. |
VIPER NYLON (MODEL EA63) | - similar to the Viper, except in six-string nylon variation, available in Black (1995-99) or Natural finish, mfg. 1995-2008. |
