OVATION | ACOUSTIC: COUNTRY ARTIST/FOLKLORE/JOSH WHITE SERIES | This series was introduced in 1967 as the Josh White Model (1114). Josh White was a blues and folk singer. He would actually visit the factory in the early days and they decided to make a guitar for him. Josh liked the wider neck Ovation offered that his current Guild did not. The Josh White model would become the fourth model in Ovation's product line. After he died in 1970, Ovation discontinued the model. In 1972, they reintroduced the same guitar (Model 1114), but as a different name, the Folklore. A new electric Folklore was introduced at the same time as the Model 1614. These models were produced until 1983, when they were discontinued again. In 1994, they reintroduced the Folklore once again, this time as the Model 6774. The Country Artist was introduced to replace the Josh White model. The Josh Model was reintroduced in 1972, but it did not disc. the Country Artist model. The Country Artist model was produced into circa 1990, but was reintroduced in 1994 as a new model. | ARTIST CUTAWAY CONTOUR LX (MODEL 2773LX) | - nylon-string configuration, single cutaway deep contoured body, solid-spruce top, scalloped LX bracing, round soundhole with inlaid tortoise rosette, 14/20-fret ebony fingerboard, slotted headstock, three-per-side open-style gold tuners with black buttons, ebony bridge, original patented pickup, OP-PRO electronics, available in Natural finish, 25.25 in. scale, new 2008. |
