 MORRIS | | Instruments currently produced in Japan. Distributed in the USA by Moridaria USA Inc, in Fairfield, CA. Guitars were produced 1967-1980s, and 2001-present. | | Toshio Moridaira founded Morris guitars in 1967. Moridaira got the name Morris when an employee at the Gibson factory nicknamed him that during a visit in 1964. In 1974, Morris displayed guitars at the NAMM show for the first time. They produced acoustic guitars and a thinline Ovation-style Tornado series until the 1980s. Morris guitars were re-introduced in 2001 with the S Series and are distributed in the U.S. by Moridaira, USA Inc.
