Moon Guitars was established by Jimmy Moon in 1979, and the Moon Guitars name has become synonymous with custom built instruments of very high quality as they are producing modern instruments with strong traditional roots. Originally, Moon Guitars produced acoustic guitars, mandolins, mandolas, and dulcimers. Moon moved into the electric market during the eighties, producing for an impressive client list of famous names. A shift in the market caused them to return to building acoustics and mandolins - including the Model T mandolin used by Steve Earle.
They now produce high quality affordable acoustic guitars from the Standard Series through to the Master Series - built with exotic timbers such as African Rosewood, Black Acacia and Koa. Moon also manufacture signature models for Bryan Adams and Dougie MacLean and continue to produce the entire mandolin family range of instruments.
